Michael Hasenstab

>>> Michael Hasenstab is the son of Joseph Hasenstab and ? Beck, of Mainaschaff, Aschaffenburg District, Bavaria, Germany. According to family lore Michael and his brother John emmigrated from Mainaschaff, Aschaffenburg District, Bavaria, Germany and settled in New York City in 1853. It is unclear if his parents also came to America, but it is likely that he and his brother, John traveled together with their wives and eventually settled in New Albany. The name of Michael's first wife is not known, but they had one child, Conrad. Both the mother and child appear to have died with no other mention in the family notes. Michael married Mary Ann Koch, the daughter of Leonard Koch and Barbara Herbert, on 5 June 1859 and had 11 children. Both Michael and Mary along with Michael's brother, John and his wife, Annie, settled in New Albany, Indiana in 1862.
